Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2: date, time, latest betting odds and how to watch

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2: Start time, undercard, latest betting odds and how to watch

Oleksandr Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois in the ninth round when these two heavyweights met in August 2023, although there was a hint of controversy over that result and they have a chance to settle matters in a rematch later this summer.

Dubois thought he had scored a knockdown in the fifth round when he floored Usyk with a shot to the body but referee Luis Pabon ruled it as a low blow.

That meant Usyk, defending his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles, was given a maximum of five minutes to recover from the shot. The Ukrainian used three minutes and forty-five seconds before the fight resumed and he continued to dominate, flooring Dubois in the eighth before stopping the challenger in the next round.

Dubois has always maintained that punch was a legal shot and had it counted he would be the only man to have scored a knockdown against Usyk. Dynamite is also convinced that he should have won the fight thanks to that shot, although Usyk may well have beaten the count and been able to continue without the additional time.

Both men have gone from strength to strength in the intervening years and the rematch will be for the undisputed world heavyweight championship. After beating Dubois, Usyk broke another Briton’s heart as he took the WBC title away from Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed champion of the four-belt era.

Dubois responded to that defeat by stopping American Jarrell Miller and he then upset the odds to overcome Filip Hrgovic with an eighth round TKO. The latter win saw him become the interim IBF champion and he was elevated to full champion when Usyk vacated ahead of a rematch with Fury.

Usyk claimed another points win over Fury, who has since retired, and he hasn’t fought since that bout in December 2024. The 38-year-old southpaw holds the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles and has a 23-0 record with 14 stoppages.

After becoming the full IBF champion, Dubois claimed the biggest win of his career by stunning Anthony Joshua with a brutal fifth round stoppage in September 2024. Dubois was set to defend his belt against Joseph Parker in February but had to pull out of that bout due to injury and his record is 22-2, with 21 of his victories coming inside the distance.
