Ambiente Amigo gains first Listed success in Nottinghamshire Oaks and could run again at Newmarket this weekend

Ambiente Amigo gained a first Listed success in the EBF-sponsored Nottinghamshire Oaks and could run again at Newmarket’s Guineas festival this weekend.
The James Owen-trained filly scored by half a length under Harry Davies and is entered in the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes on the Rowley Mile on Sunday. The Middleton is another option at York on May 15.
Owen said: “This was the right race for her and it’s great to pick up some more black type – she’ll be a broodmare down the line.
“We can have some good fun with her this season. If she's fine and hasn’t lost too much weight, I wouldn’t be frightened to run her again this weekend.”
Bright starts
Two horses on the seven-race card made successful debuts for Newmarket trainers.
The Charlie Bennett-ridden Rinky Tinky Tinky defied 40-1 odds for Ilka Gansera-Leveque in the 6f three-year-old handicap before Yokkell led home a 1-2 for Kevin Philippart de Foy under a well-judged ride by Paddy Bradley in the 1m½f fillies’ handicap.
De Foy, who was also successful with Hawkesbury Legend at Brighton, said: “It wasn’t too much of a surprise they couldn’t get to her after opening up that lead – she stays well and had been showing plenty of speed at home.”
A pair of doubles
Hector Crouch enjoyed a double aboard the Jonathan Portman-trained Thunderous Love in the 6f handicap and the Michael Bell-trained Cock And Bull in the 1m6f handicap and Trevor Whelan followed suit on Ollie Sangster's Al Waseela in the 1m½f fillies' handicap and Henry Candy's Double Red in the 1m2f handicap.
