'He could be well capable of winning a bumper' - Justin O'Hanlon with the ones to watch from last week

Makaiah
Trainer:
Ger O'Leary
4th,
2m½f three-year-old maiden hurdle, Punchestown, December 31
This
filly has a fair bit of racing experience, having run
six times on the Flat for Ger Lyons, but was having just her second
run over hurdles.
She jumped poorly on her hurdles debut at Fairyhouse when she raced too freely, At Punchestown she also raced with the choke out for much of the way, but she made nice ground to be in touch with the leaders before the straight. In the end her early exertions came to bear as she weakened and her jumping late on was tired.
She will continue to improve with experience, and better ground in the spring will suit too. She is one for handicap hurdles in the near future.
