Ignore the chat about Constitution Hill's jumping - just take the chance to back him at a value price for once

Pro punter Mark Holder provides his dose of punting wisdom in his final column of the jump season

While the British jumps season is now officially over – and we have to wait patiently until next Saturday for it to restart – there’s still fantastic jump racing to enjoy, with the Punchestown festival continuing until Saturday.

The race I’m most looking forward to this week is the Boodles Champion Hurdle on Friday when, hopefully, we’ll see Constitution Hill take on the best of the Irish. At this stage, we don’t know exactly who will line up against him, but with Constitution Hill currently trading at odds-against, for once he may be some value.

State Man would have been a wide-margin winner of what turned out to be probably one of the weakest Champion Hurdles this century at Cheltenham had he not fallen at the last. His exit left the door open for Golden Ace to win.
