'He was 85 per cent fit for the Craven' - all systems go for 2,000 Guineas favourite Field Of Gold as Juddmonte eye another victory

Confidence behind Betfred 2,000 Guineas (3.35) favourite Field Of Gold was on the rise on Monday, with connections expecting their potential star to strip fitter for his runaway Craven Stakes win when he returns to Newmarket on Saturday.
A top-price 9-4 with bet365 for the first Classic of the season in Britain, Field Of Gold will bid to give owners Juddmonte a second win in the 2,000 Guineas in the last three years after Chaldean's strike in 2023, with the grey son of Kingman's preparation reported to have gone smoothly since his sparkling trial success this month.
"He worked on Saturday and John and Thady Gosden were happy with him," said Juddmonte's racing manager Barry Mahon. "He's in good shape and came out of the Craven well.
