Jennie Phillips
Danville, CA
Cat 2
  • Aliases: Only my closest friends know it.
  • Year of Birth: 1961 (gee, when does that 'wiser with age' thing kick in?!).
  • Marital Status: Single.
  • Known Children: my bikes.
  • Occupation: Project Manager @ Wells Fargo (how ironic, eh?).
  • Race Disciplines: Prefer hilly road races but 'accepting' crits.
  • Race Highlights: '06 Everest Challenge, Cherry Pie (my very first crit!), Wente, Berkeley Hills, Pescadero, Cat's Hill, Masters Nationals (what a great experience!).
  • Riding Machines: several…but I promise, they each *DO* have a purpose and get their share of miles (to prevent jealousy among them)!
  • Favorite Race: Wente Road Race, plus any race where I can make the break and we actually work together to stay away.
  • Favorite Training Rides: Mt Diablo.
  • Favorite Beverage: Peet's Chai tea (no milk).
  • Favorite Pre-Race Meal: Shredded Wheat & Honey Bunches of Oats combo…with a Hammer Bar chaser closer to the race.
  • Favorite Flick: don't laugh…Sound of Music.
  • Favorite Book: toss up between 'Into Thin Air' and 'Shattered Air.'
  • Five-tunes Playlist (artist/song): Bryan Adams 'Summer of '69', Ellis Paul 'The World Ain't Slowin' Down', Marc Cohn 'Walking in Memphis', Sheryl Crow 'Soak up the Sun' and 'Everyday is a Winding Road.'
  • Hero/Heroes: Any cyclist I see that may not have the best fitness or have the best equipment, but is out there nonetheless.
  • Talents, Hobbies, Tidbits: I actually ENJOY working on my bikes! Also…this probably falls into the 'tidbit' descriptor…I'm a neat freak.
  • Blog or website, if any: nada.
  • If you could ask a dead person one question, who would the person be and what would be the question?: I probably wouldn't ask a question because you didn't tell me that the dead person could provide an answer!
  • Pitt or Clooney?: No fair…you haven't included any cyclists on the list! But if I have to choose, I guess it's Clooney.
  • If you were a character in a movie, who would you be? Probably one of Sandra Bullock's roles…she typically plays an independent soul with a nurturing yet humorous side.
  • What, if anything, do you have left in life to accomplish? Too many things to list here.
  • If you were a fruit, what would you be and why? Something that ripens S-L-O-W-L-Y….'cuz I still have a lot of things left to life to do.
